| The MOTM (Member Of The Month) award is given each out month to the most contributing member of the forum. Every member has the potential of winning the award, and the decision is made by combined efforts of the members and the staff. The process is consisted of three phases: Nomination, Selection, and Voting.
1. Nomination
On the 23d day of every month, a nominations thread is being made in the HF-l33t section, in which HF-ub3r and HF-l33t have the privilege of nominating a member of their choice, whom they believe to be suitable for the award. A nominated member can be any member, regardless of usergroup, who fits the following requirements:
- Minimum 250 posts
- 0% Warning status
- Has not received the MOTM award in the last three months
A nomination post should contain username of the nominated member, followed by a link to their profile, and a reason why you think they deserve the award before anyone else. Only one nomination post per member, and no other feedback about other people's nominations is allowed. Posts that violate these rules will be removed, and the poster warned.
2. Selection
In the selection phase, an admin reviews every nominated member separately, and selects the most qualified ten of them. Qualities that qualify a member for the MOTM award are:
- Posting high quality threads (tutorials, tools, etc.)
- Helping members out
- Politeness and good grammar
- Activity
Note that the only actions of a member that are taken in consideration are the actions made in the month in question. Therefore, a member who almost won the contest in a specific month, might not be even qualified in the next one, and vice versa.
3. Voting
It is up to the members to decide the winner. On the 1st day of the next month, a poll is made in the MOTM section by an admin, containing the most qualified ten contestants. Everyone is allowed to vote. You are not allowed to ask other members to vote for you, or any other member. Any such attempts will get you permanently banned from entering the contest, and temporarily banned from the forum. The member that receives the most votes by the 5th day of the month is the official winner, and being granted the MOTM award.
